GLADIATOR IN A DRESS

 Gladiator In a Dress

This year I witnessed my wife Clare work hard at her research. She was consistent and determined. She gave it her all. In some cases she would  meet her supervisor every evening at 9pm. Online. The thesis built. The meetings with fellow course mates were unwavering. Day in and out they labored. They wrote they discussed and typed.  They went into the field and discussed more. They sat for long hours. Our date night had to be postponed and I watched. I observed and sometimes I listened in.

As a spouse, your beloved's labour becomes yours. Church was adjusted. She would leave early for the 9:00 a.m. service so as to catch up with work or clients  and I would take the kids for 11 : 30 am service so that I would lead the Advancing Leadership Core Group (ALC) thereafter . The ALC is a Fellowship of working class members of the Church. This Group often contains members of the Marrieds Fellowship (Fireplace Ministries) who are often times parents that are juggling parenting with the workplace.

It was a huge lesson for me to see. Consistent hard work. Tireless dedication

Alongside her research, she was also working on another Masters thesis. From the USA. Then campaigning for a position with Uganda Society of Architects. Then running two very demanding businesses. Then there was hunting for more opportunities for her businesses. Also attending to very "interesting" clients whilst rushing to and from board meetings of organisations and  companies.

This year I witnessed her at her most busy self. I was left in awe and so I wish to celebrate my "Gladiator in a dress"

Well done my dear Clare

Surely what excuse do I have now ?
